About Signline

Signline is a communication app for Deaf and hearing people who want to understand each other without waiting for an interpreter. Point your camera at someone signing and Signline reads the clip, then returns the meaning in plain English together with the individual signs it recognised, notes on facial expression, and an honest note about anything that was unclear. The person who signed can correct the reading, so the record stays theirs. Signline also turns your own written words into a sign-by-sign plan built from clips you have already saved, writes speech out as text for hearing family members, keeps every recording in a private library you control, and shares one recording at a time with the people you choose.

It is built for families and the people around them: for a Deaf teenager whose parents are still learning to sign, for hearing grandparents who want to follow the conversation at the dinner table, for ASL students and interpreters in training, and for anyone in a signing circle who wants to practise between lessons. Nothing is shared automatically, and recordings of children stay private until a parent or guardian decides otherwise.

Signline is made by a small independent team that works with Deaf signers and ASL teachers, and it runs on Base44. We are not an interpreting agency and we do not sell, publish, or train on your recordings.

Every reading in the app comes from an AI engine and is labelled as such. It is meant to help everyday conversation, and it is not a substitute for a certified interpreter when accuracy carries legal, medical, or safety weight. Corrections you make stay with your own library, and practising in Signline never replaces learning from a Deaf teacher.
